2020 Important Updates from Councilwoman Fisher

HOBOKEN’S MUNICIPAL BUDGET WORKSHOPS - MARK YOUR CALENDARS
We have had record viewership of our City Council meetings during this pandemic so I hope this continues with our Budget Workshops.
You can tune in and / or ask questions.  Below is the schedule.  The links takes you to the Hoboken website for viewing that night.  Alternatively you can view on the Hoboken Facebook page that night. The Zoom meeting info is listed just for the first workshop.

I am a total finance policy nerd and have Chaired this committee every year since I was elected (this year I was asked by Councilwoman Jabbour to Co-Chair with her).  I can tell you though that what you learn from these workshops are the workings of our local government – because money and operations are completely tied together.  Just to name a few, you can learn what the development priorities are for the city, our plans for maintaining our parks, the many things you may not realize that our Firefighters do, about all that our legal department does, and how are recreational programs are managed.

So I hope you join to watch or ask questions at any of the four sessions beginning tonight:
  • MONDAY, JULY 27TH:
    • 6pm - Clerk’s Office (Elections, Public Record/OPRA Requests)
    • 7pm - Administration and Mayor’s Office (Staffing/Salaries, Finance - Our Debt and Open Space Funds, Technology Improvements, Construction Code Office)
    • 8pm - Legal Department (Increased Legal Spending)
