I will send out a more exhaustive, long, detailed, note later today (as you would expect of me) about the entire village of people who made this happen, but for right now I just wanted to say thank you to all of you. And to tell you that although I am a little sleep deprived, I am energized as we look ahead to the next four years and am 100% committed to always doing what is best and right for Hoboken.
Congratulations to the incumbents on City Council who all won last night and to the 2-3-4 team for our Hoboken Board of Education. I am looking forward to working together with the entire Council, Mayor Bhalla and his administration, and our Board of Ed to do more good for Hoboken.
And I want to thank all the candidates who put themselves out there and ran for office in Hoboken. We would not be a democracy if we did not have choices in our elections. It isn’t easy to run for office. You make a lot of personal sacrifices along the way so thank you to Paul, Rafi, Leo, Marla, Patti, Ed, Liz, Ian and Lauren for making those sacrifices for our community.
We still have one ward race that is not yet settled where we will have a run-off election on December 5th between Paul Presinzano and Rafi Cordova. To borrow language used by Mayor Bhalla last night – I am looking forward to a spirited race in the 1st Ward.
But first, I am going to have a good night sleep, a shower, a trip to Social Security with a neighbor who lost his medicare benefits, some quality time today with Brownie, SamIam, MamaG and my father and aunt, and hopefully a steak tonight at Dino’s…
